There have been confirmed Coronavirus cases at Ysgol Gymraeg Morswyn.

Parents and staff were informed yesterday (Tuesday, November 24) and issued with guidance provided by Public Health Wales.

The school remains open for unaffected classes.

NHS Wales Test, Trace, Protect has been informed of the confirmed case and relevant pupils and staff have been told to self-isolate for 14 days; and remain alert for any symptoms of the virus, including:

• new or continuous cough
• a high temperature or
• a loss of or change to sense of smell or taste 

Those advised to self-isolated should book a Coronavirus test if they develop any of these symptoms, even if they are mild.

Anglesey residents can book a test by phoning 119 or through the online portal: https://gov.wales/apply-coronavirus-covid-19-test before visiting the Coronavirus Testing Centre currently located at the Stanley Crescent car park on Victoria Road, Holyhead (which is open 09.30 – 16.30 throughout the week and can be accessed via car or walk-in).

Anglesey’s Chief Executive, Annwen Morgan, said, “We are continuing to work closely with the school and supporting staff during this difficult time.”

“Our main concern remains the wellbeing of pupils, staff and wider community. We will continue to monitor the situation at Ysgol Gymraeg Morswyn to see whether any further action is needed.”

She added, “The Coronavirus testing centre is available in Holyhead and I would urge anyone showing symptoms on Anglesey to arrange a test as soon as possible. If you do go for a test, it’s vital that everyone in your household self-isolates immediately until you get your result.”
